Brewer's Alley Kolsh wins medal; more off-premises sales planned
A Frederick-brewed beer has won national recognition. Brewer's Alley Kolsch, described by the brewmaster as a light, mild,
well-balanced beer, recently won a medal in the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colo.
"There were more than 400 breweries and 1,100 beers in competition in different categories," said Tom Flores,
brewmaster at the restaurant and brewery at 124 N. Market St. The local brewery entered three categories, including smoked porter
and maiboch, but won the medal in the kolsch category.
